Training Activities for Coastal Resources Evaluation

( 8th - 22nd May 2023 )

We are delighted to share the incredible experience of attending the training workshop on marine environment and management. Throughout the day, we gained a vast array of knowledge, extending beyond our respective fields. The workshop presented us with an intriguing challenge - completing exercises after every class - which proved to be both stimulating and demanding. These exercises pushed us to broaden our understanding and enhance our skills, fostering personal and professional growth.

This training school was a wonderful opportunity to revise and enhance our marine management skills and apply them in real-live situations. We were given ample training in various simulations to better understand the relationship between sustainability, growth, production, and resilience which are key points to take on our changing environment to benefit all parties. Some of the valuable activities were the Marine Spatial Planning simulation, Marine Diplomacy and Acoustic Monitoring case studies.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the workshop was the opportunity to forge connections with fellow students from various universities in Vietnam. Our camaraderie flourished effortlessly as we engaged in meaningful conversations and shared experiences. Exploring local attractions and delving into the region's rich history became an integral part of our journey. We seized every chance to visit and appreciate the local and historical sites, making memories that will last a lifetime.

In addition to the enlightening sessions and the wonderful friendships forged, we were privileged to meet the esteemed Mayor of Mazara. His presence was an inspiration, as he shared his initiatives aimed at creating a better environment for coastal communities. Learning about his vision and dedication further fueled our motivation to make a positive impact in our respective fields.

Overall, the workshop not only deepened our understanding of marine environments and management but also provided a platform for personal and professional growth. We are grateful for the knowledge gained, the friendships formed, and the remarkable experiences shared. Our heartfelt thanks to all the organizers and contributors who made this workshop an unforgettable journey towards a sustainable future.
